High Praise

"the stones would immediately cry out"
Luke 19:40

I love this verse.

Jesus speaks this verse during His triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  As He rode into the city on a donkey, a whole crowd of His disciples joyfully praised Him in loud voices.  And the Pharisees in the crowd told Jesus to rebuke His disciples, to quiet them.  This verse is His response ~ "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."

I love the idea of all creation loving Him so much.  Imagine stones, mountains, trees and flowers adoring Him, as He is due.   Nature abhors a vacuum and seeks to fill it, and if there were a lack of praises being sung to Him, then then the stones themselves would seek to fill that vacuum.

God is all about life:  creating life, destroying death.  Maybe stones are alive, and created for the express purpose of praising Him, if we do not.

What would the stones say if they cried out?  Would they praise Him continually?  Or are they already, but only He can hear?

I love this verse.

~ "He is your praise and He is your God,
who has done for you
 these great and awesome things
which your eyes have seen" ~
Deuteronomy 10:21
