Love and Marriage

Well, I did have some thoughts I was planning on sharing with you today, but my day went a little differently than I expected.  Amazing Boy and Awesome Girl were headed to a get-together with friends, so the Apple of my Eye decided the two of us should take the opportunity for a date night!  It's not something we do very often, because we enjoy our children so much.  But we enjoyed dinner out, then coffee/hot chocolate at our local Ubiquitous Coffee House, and wandering through a charming candy store where we bought a little something for the kids.

So in celebration of love and marriage, I'm just going to share some of what the Bible has to say on marriage.  If you're married, praise God for the one He gave you to spend your good times and hard days with.  If you're not, praise Him that He is your forever companion!

"What therefore God has joined together,
let not man separate"
Matthew 19:6

"Marriage is honorable among all"
Hebrews 13:4

"Wives, submit to your husbands, as to the Lord"
"Husbands, love your wives,
just as Christ also loved the church"
Ephesians 5:22, 25

"Two are better than one,
because they have good reward for their labor.
For if they fall, one will lift up his companion"
Ecclesiastes 4:9,10

"Love suffers long and is kind,
love does not envy,
love does not parade itself,
is not puffed up,
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own,
is not provoked, thinks no evil...
love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:4-6

"Mercy and truth have met together;
righteousness and peace have kissed"
Psalm 85:10
